A call by environmentalists to halt the use of a Christian pilgrimage site due to pollution in the Jordan River may leave Christians with one less special place to visit for a whle.

The July 22 call came from an environmental group called “Friends of the Earth”, who called to put a halt the baptisms which take place in Qasr al-Yahud, a site located a few miles from the point where the Jordan River spills into the Dead Sea. The site is the place where Christian tradition says that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and draws over 100,000 tourists each year who wish to undergo a baptism in the same spot that tradition holds that Jesus did.

In an article titled, "US disagreement with France over Veil Ban" the writer points out that,

"US officials [emphasis added] have reiterated Washington's disagreement with a measure approved by the lower house of France's National Assembly banning the use of face-covering Islamic veils in public."

I would like to simply point out that, the vast majority of Americans doubtfully share the sentiment described. This writer is in total agreement with France. Banning the use of face-covering Islamic veils in public has my vote and I am guessing the majority of Americans feel the same way. Why? Because we believe in Freedom from oppression. We despise the way women are treated in Islamic countries.

It can be very discouraging to fair minded folks to hear some of the outlandish things people are willing to say in this media environment, where accountability and shame seem to be passé, some relic from an America era where common experience bound us together. I will group in this category the claim that various government officials are “racist,” as I attempted to explain in a recent Pajamas Media piece I do not believe to be true. Refusing to enforce the law in a race neutral fashion is not necessarily racist, though I can see why it is attractive to reject my argument.

The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom was created by the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 to monitor the status of freedom of thought, conscience, and religion or belief abroad, as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and related international instruments, and to give independent policy recommendations to the President, the Secretary of State, and the Congress.

If this is not overstepping the bounds of the Oath of Office I do not know what is. For months, we have all heard story after story about President Obama being surrounded by Chicago-style thugs, about his ties to terrorist organizations, questions about his birth, about his ties to Marxists, corruption inside the Administration, his ties to ACORN, etc., etc., etc.

This is just too much, and there needs to be a full investigation now. Obama, and all involved, should resign before he is impeached. MSM will surely try to spin this, but hopefully this one won't go away so easily.
